The NEAD Insurance Trust is a non-profit organization established by the Massachusetts State Automobile Dealers Association (MSADA) in 1950. In the following years, the NEAD Insurance Trust severed its ties with MSADA and expanded its services as well as its membership scope, as requested by member dealers and other groups related to the automotive industry. The NEAD Insurance Trust currently administers Disability, Dental, and Life Plans for dealers throughout New England.

As a rule, the NEAD Insurance Trust encourages availing the assistance of insurance brokers.

Currently the NEAD Insurance Trust offers Life, AD&D and short term Disability Income plans through Anthem Life Insurance Co. and Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance through the Guardian Life Insurance Company. The plans are administered by Transurance Inc. of Hartford Ct. on behalf of the NEAD Insurance Trust in accordance with Anthem Life Insurance Co. and the Ameritas Group. All plans are fully insured; there is no self funding or partially self funding involved with any plans offered through the Trust.
